2022
SHOW
Where are all of the black ballet dancers? Why do dancers of color have to work twice as hard to succeed or to be perceived as equal? How can you remove the implicit biases and stereotypes placed upon you as a dancer of color in today’s world.
Turning Tables presented “A Seat At The Table” on Thursday, April 28th, 2022 and gave 11 choreographers the opportunity to explore these questions through dance and choreography. The show took place at Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and each piece explored issues of discrimination, underrepresentation, bias, standards, acceptance, and pride.
